Fall Street Style.

I'm still alive (mostly).

It is already December, and I still feel like I'm treading water just to get by. My weekdays are spent lesson planning, grading, teaching, correcting, listening, and then repeating the cycle until I can finally feel like I totally get ahead.

Then my weekends (and some of my week nights) have been spent in the city, crashing with different friends (I feel like I should be paying one of my friends rent - I'm sleeping at his apartment constantly, and his roommates are shocked when they don't see me on a weekend), going from lounge to lounge/bar to bar, and spending (too much) of my big girl paycheck on very important things (like Gucci heels and too many pairs of J Brand skinny jeans - never on a bar tab, I've still - kind of - got it).

One thing I love about being in the city on a regular basis is the constant source of fashion inspiration that you see here. It doesn't matter if people are running out for coffee, doing the walk of shame home, or are on their way to a gorgeous night out - everyone looks fabulous.

Those of you have been followers for a while know that I have a serious, serious love of street style - I think it shows a person's true fashion sense way more than if they had a stylist picking everything out for them.

Luckily I have friends who love to go out for food at different places, so there is plenty of opportunities to people watch and get crazy fashion inspiration - from people who are over the top and wear things I would never think to pull together, to the ones who make monochromatic looks appear completely polished and gorgeous - I'm constantly loving all things street style.

These are a few of my favorite looks from different fashion blogs - and one thing I've learned (and luckily am able to actually pull off!) is that skinny jeans + an oversized anything on top (cardigan, shirt, sweater, sweatshirt) + boots/heels is a foolproof fashion choice (and adding a pop of color with a fun bag or jewelry is an added bonus!).

There are some great deals with">coupons for sunglasses at Meijer with most wardrobes.

The unconventional street style (read: fashion with a little more balls).

Susan Cernek - never would I think to pair all these gorgeous autumn tones together!

Oversized button downs with skinny jeans/pants is so simple, but so perfect (as perfectly evidenced by the fact that it's a staple of the Olsen's, my favorite fashion icons).

Olivia Palermo is always perfection.

Blazers are always the perfect addition to any outfit.

Motorcycle jackets are another serious win, that can be dressed up or down.

Rock fall essentials (maxi skirts, sweaters, etc) with your own spin on the style.

Fall tones, boots, jacket = perfect.

If loving Nick Wooster is wrong, I don't ever, ever, ever want to be right. The man is perfection.

Once I'm on winter break, I'll be posting more regularly - things these next few weeks are going to be incredibly stressful and busy with work, so I can't promise to be an A+ blogger, but I do promise to get back on track when things calm down a little! I miss and love you all so very much (for real!). Keep me updated on your lives <3

That last pick of that Nick Wooster chap made me laugh. Rolled up pant-bottoms - and no socks - HA.

I know I can't talk, I'm a barbarian, but I've never rolled up my pant/jean-bottoms whilst rocking no socks.

Sorry. I just found it amusing... if there's any way to get back into your good books, I agree with what you wrote about Miss Palermo.

I always love your style posts :). They totally make me want to dress better, and go on a serious shopping trip hahah. Crazy planning seems to go into teaching, and I admire you for being able to keep up with it--even if you feel somewhat behind, you'll find shortcuts and improve with time and practice :).
I'm definitely more drawn to street style than runway, because I feel like I can draw inspiration and actually wear the clothing myself, or get my own ideas from other people's styles. I love the oversized buttondown paired with jeans look, especially with a nice watch ;). Working at Fossil I'm starting to get a little "watch-crazy" hahah. So many times I've had to tell myself "NO." but hopefully I can afford to treat myself for Christmas.
Good luck during your pre-winter break crunch. You can do it!

♥ Olivia

Wow. Great picks! I would probably wear most of these styles. Except maybe the bell bottom jeans. And I definitely agree that Olivia Palermo is always picture perfect.

Love the fashion choices you picked here!!! and you are SO right about living in a city and everything being a fashion show. My brother teases me when I get all done up to do something silly like run to the grocery store. He doesn't realize, the streets of NY are a runway show!! :)

Hi Ally!!!
Lovely compilation of beautiful people and their styles, as usual. I'm sure you look just as good as them in your Gucci heels!! :D I especially like the blazer shots. Zhat I love about being in France (even if it is just Rouen) is that the youth here just seem to get it-- the girls have big bags and touseled hair, the boys have sweet shoes and the proper swagger.. ahh :) Finding elegant old folks is my favorite too; some of the women here are still so fabuous!! I'll admit I can't wait to go home on the 16th and reclaim my own closet, but the abundance of people in this city will be missed.

Take care these next few weeks!!!

My darling we both have a passion for street style! These are great shots. I love the white fur jacket with the black and white combo. Also I love seeing Nick Wooster (the gent in the last few shots) he is always incredibly stylish and poised.

I am stoked to be starting back shooting street style soon. I've been super busy with work and school, but it is one of my favorite things to do. Can't wait to get back into it full force.
